It’s time for new leadership.
I’m out after this week, see you guys on the freestyle trail.
This is indicative of what the problem is now.
Motivated people are ready and willing to do what must be done but those who do not have the same motivation have decided that it’s not gonna happen.
We all decided on this at the state championship, where we were also supposed to have a state meeting, but that got cancelled as well.
It is now up to everyone else to continue this or move BMX in a new direction, I wish everyone on the board well and to all the racers who have come around to have a good time here, keep up the good work.
C-ya all later.bmiddaughMemberThis site will be up for 1 more day, then I am out.
bmiddaughMemberman….I almost feel like locking this thread after that comment above…
nothing more needs to be said
Deep.
Sorta shows that underneath it all we have the same principles with what is in our minds.bmiddaughMemberCraig,
I think everyone is just busting your chops. My personal belief is that you are doing the right thing because of this:
You are actually listening to everyone instead of just blowing it all off, almost like we’re all friends, lol!
You’ve set up a few goals for yourself and you’re making them and it is my personal belief that you’ll move up when you’ve accomplished them. I mean it is a pretty good judge of where you stand in that class when you go to the grands and make the main and are in the hunt for 1st…You’re also sorta setting an example, you’ve come back, tested the waters, doing pretty good and will move up soon….
Everyone on this board KNOWS there are guys in the old mans class that will sandbag as a novice forever in hopes of getting a nat1 plate. Craig isn’t one of them.
Though…Rich’s post was pretty dang good….LOL
I look forward to next years old NJ X class…even if I’m getting my doors blown off every moto, because I know everytime we all line up on the gate next year, even though the goal is gonna be to cross the line first, the ultimate goal will be to make BMX bigger and better here in NJ.bmiddaughMemberRich, are you almost done with that “take everyone back to 1983 and show them a huge national with pros and people who are just KILLING themselves to move to expert” time machine?
I could use that about now…
I think everyone has to ask themself, are they racing to beat the best, or are they racing to get a small piece of plastic.
The piece of plastic is indicative of pushing yourself as hard as you can to achieve a goal, if that goal means having to beat someone real fast who has no interest in a plate then that is what must be done.
It takes 5 nationals to qualify to race for a plate at the grands.
5 x 45 = 225
plus gas, hotels…camping, food.
Since the nbl helps everyone out by holding 105 national qualifiers a year, everyone in NJ has the chance to EASILY and “relatively” cheaply qualify to the grands. If you are “that” good, then hit the 5 close ones, get your “perfects” (another nbl JOKE), then hit the grands.
An investment of maybe 2-3 grand…I mean if you hit EHT and Howell this year, you already had FOUR of the needed FIVE qualifiers.
I don’t get it…I freestyle as well, that is for fun, it’s subjective to a point, but racing…you cross the finish line you win. It’s simple, it’s not about bending the rules to get a plate, it’s about seeing how fast you are against everyone else.bmiddaughMemberhmmmm,
As Greg Hill would say, Don’t concentrate on who you are racing, just concentrate on racing.
It will affect a kids standings only if he doesn’t beat the faster rider.
You are at the grand nationals or the worlds you are supposed to be racing against the fasted riders in the nation-world.
If you are leading points and can’t a rider that another kid can, even if this “other rider” isn’t there for a plate, then whoever beats the faster rider should win the plate.
Racing is all about winning the race against the fastest people in your class.
What has happened is that a lot of rules have been put into place to soften the blow to johnny racer who doesn’t win.
It’s hard to explain some of this stuff because most everyone here has never raced an aba race.
Again, there are no qualifications to “race the grands”. But there are qualifications to win a national ranking.Dave,
I do not like that the state series makes you qualify as well and you can’t race if you don’t hit the mins. Should be the same as the nationals.
You can race, but you get no plate.
I don’t know, maybe if we discuss this real time, we could figure it all out…bmiddaughMemberI like the way ohio did it…
Um….I bought a new cell phone/pda and it’s been taking awhile to get it up to snuff, lol…
I’m working on issue 6, ding dangle it!bmiddaughMembersomeone should have that bonehead web admin for the track, update the site then… ❗
bmiddaughMemberThe guy who just shows up at the race gets nothing other than racing for trophy for the day.
He gets no plate.
I will say this there is no min. qualifications to race the aba grands either.
I don’t understand the logic here,
some kid shows up, races for the day.
Wins the class.
You get second.
You should still win the plate.
This is all about competing, at least racing is…
I guess my question is, what is the question the 7 year old would be asking?
Not being an a**, just actually wondering what the kid would ask.
I may be able to explain my view better if someone gives me a real world scenario on this situation.
Again the problem lies in the whole giving bigger points to the motos then to the mains.
In the main you are racing the best kids in your class…
Actually, I know why this all has happened, and I am gonna get reamed for this.
But.
It’s because parents were no doubt complaining that little johnny racer wasn’t scoring high enough because he couldn’t qualify out of the motos.
So they made up a rule to appease the parents instead of asking the racers where they should get pointed higher.
I win a moto I get 50 points.
I win the main after qualify through 1/8ths, 1/4’s, semis….
I get 10 points…Is there not something wrong with that?bmiddaughMemberAll races should be open to all people…
If you are the best…
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BEAT EVERYONE IN YOUR CLASS.
If not…well…tough noogies.
If the nbl didn’t give HUGE points to the freaking motos you would NEVER run into these problems.
nbl…
NoBodyListens…
But all the sheep love to be herded.bmiddaughMemberCraiiiiiiiiiggggg, you just beat almost every 35 over nov in the country…
We’re calling you……. 😀bmiddaughMemberlol,

I don’t have the forums set up to allow attachments…
and… not to be an a**, but if ya guys want to rock a different design then I came up with that’s cool as hell…but I sorta gotta start working on the other stuff we have going on…
