    Bump.
This was brought up at the meeting saturday.
If the racers want to not have to pay to race class and open, it was already done.
Maybe a bunch of guys will go to the next meeting and bring this point up.

I don’t race the pro-am, so it doesn’t affect me.

Maybe someone should print out this whole post and bring it to a meeting and you can show them that it has already been done.

    “for the racers”

Rod, I’ll see you at the freestyle stuff.
I never said I will not accept editorial or pictorial contributions.

    So give me a story.

Reality is, I do this for FUN.
So I need to balance all this stuff. 5 weekends of covering BMX races sounds cool to me, plus I’ll be at CJ a couple times a month.
    The freestyle stuff.
    I wanna make Brian’s party this year…
But that is my coverage this year of racing!

Lot of people wanted to see a new site, at least that is what they told me.
Ya got a new young dude cutting loose, where are the ideas?
Anyway, I realized this is not the place that announcements should be done for NJBMX Inc.
    That’s their thing.
We just wanna cover a few cool races and get props out for the people hitting the berms.

    Key points:
The NJ BMX racing season will start with the first races at EHT in February.
Hazleton BMX in Hazleton, PA is now on a trial run with the state.
We will be working on some new by-law changes.
The state website will be fully functional by the end of March, after our next meeting to finalize state series dates.

Qualifications to earn a number this year.
    Very simple.
    Must run:
    3 qualifiers, 5 locals.
You will be counted on your best 5 qualifiers, 10 locals.

The pro-am will be finalized pending a way to change the amount that riders have to pay to race class and the pro-am.
There will be another meeting in March to finalize things, then I believe the first race will be in mid-May.

I’ll have an update later today.
    The meeting went well.

The time is now to make things happen.
The younger open races, I don’t see happening as no one showed up to support it.
The pro-am is going to need to let everyone know what they want to do and where it should be run.
I feel like we need more people to step up to get things done on the few committees that we have.
In fact, since I believe in using the web as a communication tool, when I get the list from Lisa on who is on what committees, I will make special forums for them here to get notice out on what is going on.

Congratulations to Cathy Knapper the new state points keeper-clerk. I’m sure she’ll do a good job, I also think it’s cool that she is waving the monetary compensation.
2007 was a transition, now we actually have to make good on what we can do.

Oh and I still say we need 1 track in NJ that is completely run by riders. 😈
and..I think when this track is opened, it should NOT immediately join the state series if it is nbl but rather it should chill till it pumps up it’s rider base.
But that is still the future.

    How far have we come?

No one showed up to support this idea last night. I would consider it shelved for the 2008 season.
