No prob! By the way, if you’d like a commemorative photo of this highly controversial race, click the url below and scroll down to photo 1160, about 1/2 down the page…

C’mon guys, I think Greg was asking a serious question here and I happen to know a little about this topic. The act of shaving your entire body is quite a shock to the system and triggers the “fight or flight response.” Whether or not this increases your first straight pull depends upon whether your brain chooses to respond with “fight” or “flight.” If it chooses the “flight” response then yes, shaving your entire body will certainly increase your first straight pull as your brain is telling your body to haul arse. If however, it chooses the “fight” response you’ll be overly aggressive, intentionally taking everyone out and will likely be disqualified. So you see, Greg, shaving your entire body can be risky and carries only a 50% chance of increasing your first straight pull. Let us know what you choose.

Between the rain and heavy work schedule, I did no training this week . . . excuses, excuses . New Paltz local race last night (Friday), got to the track early, practiced gates and did some pump laps. Raced cruiser, 4 people in my moto, took 2,2,2.

Brought a friend with a video camera to the track. Watching myself on video, two things stand out: I’m way late coming out of the gate and I’m totally coasting over the big doubles. I really need to work both of these.

6/23 — local race at New Paltz, took 2,2,2 in Cruiser (3 guys in the moto). Overall, I spent considerably more time on my bike this week than usual. Also ate much healthier, kept thinking about Greg saying “you don’t have to eat 9 slices of pizza just because it’s there.” I was good with portion control, ate more protein to help muscle recovery and stayed away from sugary snacks.

6/22 – 20 sprints after work. Think I’ll shave my legs so I can be one of the cool kids!
