im sure ant and a few others had the same question… hey i heard dave did his first sheet in eht like the aba does… picking the riders befoe the motos were posted…now thats a real tm!!!
unless you ask you will never know,.
word to the wise… it sometimes helps to ask the rider(if they are older)/ parent if the rider you are considering for your team sheet is “on” that day… you never know they could be sick, in a funk and not feel like racing..they could be concentrating on open rather than class, they could have had a fight with their gf, hung over, whatever you never know…. not to put pressure on them for the sheet but i always found its better to know ahead of time you can tell them you are “considering puttng them on” this way no one knows if they are on( if they are younger they dont need that pressure) oh they will tell you no way dont use me today .. if they are not in the mood…
just a thought.
bmxmom156Memberwhat time it is on?
bmxmom156Memberholy crap… i knew craig was a numbers guy but geesh…. thank god you are in the mtg business….
i think mac daddy made a mistake jeremy was on the sheet in open not in cruiser. we used him there instead of cruiser as we already had a cruiser and a girl( rule says only 2 cruisers, 1 girl and 1 cruisers, not 1 girl and 2 cruisers)
my other comment is nancy has been doing team sheets for a bizzillion years and i dont think she would let anything slide.. she is straight arrow on stuff like that… she took over from linda luden…i remember years ago i put in a sheet with the wrong number of cruisers/ girls and i was ticked off they took my money and didnt tell me our team was d/q’d till after i turned in my sheet after the motos… so then i spoke with linda luden ( actually i freiked out…not spoke… haha…back then she did the sheets then they started looking at them when you turn them in( when you pay initially) so if you screwed up your sheet you knew right away and got to fix it..
its complicated but after this season all the new tms will have this down pat… you will do it in your sleep…lol
brett i like the rider poll…. asking what 10 things they would like to happen to make bmx better… can you start the thread tonight and i will def ask my guy…if all the parents of riders would post under it and list the age/ class of the rider that would be a great starting point… then take these ideas to the meeting… i def agree with that one!!!
bmxmom156Memberok sorry…. l just read your post craig… regardless of who is combined ( nov/ experts etc) you are scored as you cross the finish line for team sheets ( motos only count) regardless if its 8x with 9nov when you do a team sheet its score as you finish…
jeremy was used in open class on sunday not in cruiser so dont worry the sheet was fine.
bmxmom156Memberdid i miss something? of course they are scored as they cross the finish line…
what is the question?
bmxmom156Memberno dave you are not wrong for bringing it up. i think ppl just took it the wrong way initially.
i think everyone felt bad for you that you didnt have a real “race” thats all.
bmxmom156Memberthose of you who know me know i am going to say whats on my mind..what you see is what you get. no bs. i really dont care who agrees with me or not. i have been involved in the sport ( as a parent volunteer) for over 11 yrs so that gives me the right to say my peace…
ok as i am reading this and referring to the other post i see that some people are reading WAY too much into that post… it appears that 2 riders made a mistake by not informing the other rider in the moto that they would not be racing… the lone rider got screwed by not having anyone to race…he then posted a topic on it on the official njbmx site and the person in registration responded as to why it was combined the way it was, discussion ensueing after that…. i didnt see that the registration people were “acting as the lone person in charge” or whatever…i think you all need to chill out and stop jumping on the first person that offers an explaination you dont agree with…
there are many faults in the system…the people in registration dont make the rules they just explained them to whomever asked the question.
your anger would better be directed to the powers that be…the nbl. they made the race class/ race open for ams rule…( i am assuming)
the direction this topic is going is not(in my opinion)contributing to the growth of njbmx. ( new ppl here every day) this is not little league and you all are reminding me of those overzealous soccer moms ( thats right the reason my son and many bmxers chose individual sports.
i am starting to feel like i am listening to a 4th grade argument in gym class…”i was first..no i was here first”..yada yada.. it gets old…
just my 2 cents, sorry.
thats all i have to say on that.even though i am a parent( not a rider) and that according to some people this does not give me a right to an opinion on the subject…facts are parents fork over the $$ for their riders ( 75% of the rider population i think) so that does give us the right to voice an opinion.
bmxmom156Memberthis is really betw s4lnj and the 2 other riders when you come down to it. i dont know who they are -craig knows as he is their tm( so i heard) so really what we say dosnt mean a rats ass. its betw them… they will have to race the season together so they will ultimately have to work something out to make sure he gets a class.maybe there are more of them and they will show up at the next state race who knows… like i said it was prob just a communication prob i would hope they didnt opt out on him on purpose…
dont think sandbagging has anything to do with it( are they novs?)
its the riders choice if he wants to coast/ race or really try. if he coasts and isnt in it for the competition thats his choice
bmxmom156Membermany others had to race class also… i assume unless you are on a team sheet when you race open you will bag your class race( unless you are gunning for a #1 nj plate) danny had to go out in class cause he was on the team sheet. i am willing to bet if he wasnt on in class he would have coasted in class also. on sat he had semis and mains( 17-24x)…so 9 motos to race in a 2 hr period is a big much wouldnt you say? when is the last time you had to go all out in that short period of time?? i dont agree that they should have to race class either but its not a nj rule its nbl so take it up with bt.
hey ant why not give your buddy bob a call and find out why this rule exists? not a bad idea…
not everyone who coasts in class is sandbagging. experts dont bag they are just conserving energy.
bmxmom156Memberwas he carrying a crutch by any chance??
bmxmom156Memberwith bretts setup….childs play… lol
bmxmom156Memberis there a write up posted somewhere? looking to see how the video came out….brett did you get enough footage??
bmxmom156Membersorry craig …i thought you were the one who started the dethrone revolution….!!
🙄
bmxmom156Memberyour team is awesome- you dont have to make excuses and dont take it so seriously… lots of new tms who have never done this before and of course you will make mistakes.. its not the olympics and everyone is having fun without the pressure… i credit you for sparking up the team thing in nj this yr so i will give credit where credit is due…
wanting to de-throne ppb is just contagious…. lol everyone is on the bandwagon now thanks to you!!
bmxmom156Memberthe new track IS accepted by all..dont even mention it.. they put on a great race and were awesome hosts.. we hope everyone comes out to flemington for the next round of state races…
