brett are you addicted to caffine?? you are bouncing all over the place. you always talk about how you respected bob warnicke, well i can tell you
first hand what he would tell you about making things change. ranting and raving doesn’t get it done. all it does as you have experienced is throw up brick walls around those you are trying to get to listen. if you calmly discuss an idea or subject without giving the impression that you are “attacking” people will listen.
i agree that there are things the NBL does that has hurt the local programs. but i don’t believe it was their intent, it is the fallout of changes that were made for other reasons. the bottom line is, each track is their own business and it is their responsiblity to get their customers and once they get them they need to keep them. the nbl rules or the aba rules are not going to gain or lose riders. the tracks create their own destiny.

it doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it, you will never make everyone happy. fact of life both in and out of bmx.
just for the record, i and everyone that i know are pleased that the riders are again taking an interest. as i have said before, there are many great ideas out there, but it takes time and effort to implement them, and it takes people step up and start doing instead of just making a to do list.

16 & over open started at EHT as the Royal Rumble when Doug Luden got Andy and Mike Cannon to donate a bunch of bike parts to give to the winners. It was run once a month after our local race. We would pull semis. We had 8 rider gates then. We then started the money open at the
state qualifiers and the hole shot was added. (you had to race both class and open no option).
many of your ideas are not new, and many have been done in the past, but as the powers that be change, things have been dropped, changed and forgotten. to succeed you need to step up, NOT step on and you will
see the sport grow. and i look forward to seeing you guys working the races(get to the track at least 2 hours before registration starts, sweep and water the track, help in registration, corners, staging handing out trophies, helping the new riders, doing the paper work, make sure you get the finishes and standings up before you get home.
of course you also have to answer and return phone calls that always come in at all hours, answer emails . work 40 hours a week take care of family. that is what keeps this sport going. volunteers, to make it growi we need more volunteers . that is YOU . if you have an idea go for it, you are the future of bmx. it used to be rare to have 3 generations at bmx tracks, but now it is common but if you guys in your 20’s and 30’s don’t step up the sport is going to die or we will have to get ATWs( all terrain wheelchairs) for the volunteers. contrary to what many of you think, we are there because we love this sport, and have put everything we had into it to keep it going
ok i have had my rant for the day too

the race has been cancelled for sat. 3/10. probably will run a double race next saturday. the track still has a lot of snow, that will then melt and create mud. mud race = ruts . that causes a lot of extra work before the national.

we used to have the championship after the grands, but then everyone needed the triple point race towards the reg. championship. now that the
points are different, there isn’t any reason to cram the championship in so early

2 or 3 years ago the state board decided to do away with the pre and post registration. their reasoning was that not having a post registration fee would bring more riders. doesn’t make sense to me, the average was 30 to 50 riders pre registered and saved 5.00, the other 75 to 100 post registered. the only thing that changed was that there was less money brought in at each state race. if you pre registered, and couldn’t make it, you got credited to the next race. if you can save a few bucks and pre register, great. if you choose not to it’s on you.

pay pal was used for 2 years for pre registration. it worked fine. it was always much easier to have pre reg for the state series. there was a five dollar post registration fee if you registered on the day of the race.
