personally i think they should have kept the whatever national standings you got from the year before( like it used to be top 16national can go) if you are aba or nbl whatever you have to do a certain number of races thats it simple no confusion…
this was totally confusing… first it was your best 3 uci races… top 8 for points..then they said top 8 for points even if you only have 2 races… (after you go and make sure you have 3)
i love how nothing is ever in writing… we never meant that you HAD to have 3… when i asked the head usac guy in michigan how can they take someone who only had 2 vs 3 they said they never said mandatory 3 uci races that only your BEST 3 would count… meaning max 3 but nothing in writing saying that. i ( and 90% of everyone else from what i heard) thought it was like the nbl grands… they take your best 6 and take the best scores..if you have 4 you go to the bottom of the pile/list and if your points are higher with 4 then too bad.. sorry thats the way the nbl is so i assumed…. well you know what happens next when you assume…
enlightning conversation but it teaches you to ask questions for next time…
i agree we want the best points to go to the worlds but if someone said your best 3 races most would think oh i need 3 …right? DUH
my complaint for the day…now i am done..i think….
there were other rules we are not aware of… no jeans in usac…no ankle socks( have to be covered) they didnt enforce this… thought it was a riot all the little kids running around with high socks on… gloves are a must you cant get on the track without them… some i was aware of like no leaving your lane till the end of the hill, no changing your position ( side to side) after the last jump and before the finish line( impeding the progress of the rider behind you) in other words no blocking right before the finish line…. some rules they were strict with, some they were not. oh and i was told you cannot protest like in nbl…the usac officials(corner people) have to initiate the protest.. if they dont see it it didnt happen…
interesting…i wish i was there for the whole meeting they had before the race started.. lots of riders who didnt hear the announcement missed it. we just happened to see a crowd forming and went to see what it was about. would have been nice to get all this in writing in the packet they handed out with the number plate( i know there is an online rule book but a pamphlet with “differences betw usac and nbl rules” would have been sufficient.
bmxmom156Membermost of the main videos are up on vintage you can see jeremys and anyone elses… thanks to whoever taped them….
bmxmom156Membercan we pre register on friday?
—its still pre???
🙄
bmxmom156Memberboth billy and carly looked good. was a nice site to see her jumping up and down when he was in the lead( she was taking photos on the infield at the time) she looked so happy for him!!
bmxmom156Membercongrats to jeremy… nice riding on the weekend! victor rode well also but i tell you many of the motos were stacked… in the championship race lots of people are complaining that they only had 60 some odd motos..they failed to mention they had to race 7-8 man gates…all motos/ 1/4’s semis etc… wow that was surely an eye opener… kind of fun actually to watch when you are used to seeing ony 3-5 on a gate esp the little guys… its like watching mains all day!!! they also gave out free water park passed to all the riders after the mains which was nice.. unfortunately we had some bleeding issues so dan was not up for that at all ( he was happy to just walk upright…lol)
bmxmom156Memberdan looked really good all weekend…took 1sts in motos in the nat and hung tough for 2nds in main and in opens…sat he was also riding well in the championship race- was consistant with 2nds in motos behind woodmansee and 1/4’s and then in the semis some kod frpm calif ran into his back tire in the 2nd turn (he was in 3rd) and he went down hard… pretty scraped up but more disapointed than anything. its the best i have seen him race all yr. on sunday he even just missed getting pope at the line for 1st in open… his class had over 35 riders and these aba kids arent messing around either. i would just have wished they would ride smarter ( when you are in 4th in the semi you stay put…duh)but we will see..he has a few duplicates in his age grp so maybe luck will be on his side….. was a nice race all in all once the 40 mph winds died down on sat ( a few bmx whackos but oh thats another story for another post…what would life be without bmx drama?)
bmxmom156Memberthats all you can do then… short of telling him exactly what you just told me theres not much else you can do but keep keep doing what you like, maybe he will come around eventually…
bmxmom156Memberoops sorry i assumed that was also in the traveling journalism position…
oh you must have gottn that modeling job with all the mullica moms recommendations… you had quite a following bitd…so i heard…
^$#%#
bmxmom156Memberwow sorry to hear that..i dont know about the $4000 truck -that dosnt make sence to me but without knowing all the facts, i am assuming your dad may be ( thats a big maybe) trying to pull the reigns in on you in an attempt to avoid having you go down the same path as your bro? i may be totally off base here but i had a friend who similar thing happened the parents oldest kid was so talented/ smart in school/ the most amazing self taught guitarist with so much potential… started hanging with druggies/ and then dabbled in it himself..before you knew it he was breaking into houses/no college/ and in big time trouble..now the younger bro is a really straight- arrow kid works out all the time big into sports but not as committed to any one thing, still trying to find his way in life… as of yet he hasnt made any decisions.. and the dad rides him big time..he is always sayng he is trying to avoid making the same mistakes( giving too much freedom, stuff etc) but in actuality he is pushing him away in the process…
you need to be the one to follow your heart and do what makes you happy. as long as you stay out of trouble, contribute to the family( whatever you all have agreed on) you are showing responsibility, have you offered to do stuff like mow the lawn, help your dad out with stuff(without being asked)?? something that will bring you together on another level..?? just a thought.
parents sometime need you to let them know whats on your mind as well.communication is key he may not even know how you feel…
good luck..
bmxmom156Membersorry for being nosey but what was the precipitating event that led to this decision by your dad?
just trying to help
bmxmom156Memberdave what the hell do you do for a living( always wondered) i hope to God its something to do with sports journalism…
if not what a waste of talent… somebody please get this boy a job with the nbl/aba as traveling/ all expenses pd/ pro-writer/racer for all the events… can someone get him a press pass into the olympics too?
bmxmom156Memberyea hes on the bubble( with the expected dups) so its last chance for him.he is determined so we keep our fingers crossed…
thanks
bmxmom156Membercarri hit the nail on the head
bmxmom156Memberdannys is inbetw a 12 and 16…got it for $5 in a garage sale( i think it was actually pic any 3 for $5..haha)
maybe 2 riders from each team to make it fun and up the numbers…if they cant do it “officially” because of the age differences of riders then do it on invisible nbl paper… the little guys at flem loved this last yr when we did it..everyone had “pro names” and everything..it was really cool…
we had luke skywalker, otomabinmartin, and dont forget the ever famous puddentator etc. was alot of fun…
bmxmom156Memberdave you dont know how many ppl feel the same way. i always hear it at a nat on sundays from parents…everyone should get at least 3 warm up laps…i dont know any other sport where they dont warm up??seems idiotic and potentially dangerous ( racing cold muscles esp the little guys who dont know any better)
maybe ant dog can speak to his buddy bt about it
