    i would like something serious here.
    EVERYTHING that we said we would come through on this year.
    We have.
    From jerseys to web sites, videos, podiums, Craig got all the info for the bus thing, the fact that it isn’t feasible with a small amount of people is irreleveant, he said he would get it together and he did.

    We come through on what we promise so there should be no more problems.

    Finally someone who seems to be able to give straight answers. I thought we were supposed to have an awards committee to handle stuff like this. At least that’s what the by-laws say. But be that as it may, it seems we need to really start to take stuff like this seriously. That must have been a crazy awards banquet when people showed up and no awards! I’m hoping that an improved njbmx website used as a central communication tool will stop things like this that occurred from ever happening again.

    Then again with a site like this out there, making boob boos that hurt BMXers might be a little tougher.

    Hey, you replied to a couple of our posts with straight answers.
    Thanks!

    Excellent, so the board can vote on this and we can get it up and running again. I think if it is promoted more it might save a lot of time on race day.

    yea, Scott and Donna are great. They donate the Incline free of charge to have it. CJ gives awards to everyone who placed top twenty in fall and overall. Volunteers get noticed, raffles.
    I swear it feels good to know those guys.

    I gotta have Dale help me do a little write up on the CJ Ferry award. Very cool thing they do.
    Hey they even gave this knucklhead a hoodie for doing the website!, lol.
    HC has an awards banquet. I hear Matt gives out these killer jackets!
    He even had it at Shields this year! Maybe Jeff Morgan has some photos up at njbmxphoto.com

    I suddenly don’t feel like they will hold up under any scrutiny….this sucks…Do they really need to keep these records?

    Disadvantages
    1. Paperwork — There is the initial red tape (Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Minutes, all forms to be filed, etc.) and the ongoing process of record keeping of association activities including:
    Minutes of meetings – Board, General, and Annual meetings
    Financial Records — Accounting records are important. Some associations have an accountant set up initial books and then follow this procedure. The Treasurer should have some knowledge of accounting and non profit tax requirements.
    Statement of Domestic Nonprofit – $20 every other year
    Filing income tax returns each year – no cost
    Filing Charitable Trust Form RRF-1
    Filing registrtion for conducting raffles
    2. Incorporation’s costs & fees – Hiring an attorney for intital fees can run $1,000 or more, in addition to the regular filing fees. There are books available for consultation and you can file the applications yourself, so the only cost would be the filing fees.
    3. Time & Energy

    Keeping a record of all meetings and activities;
    Board meetings need to be held;
    An Annual meeting of all members is required;
    Accounting Records and tax filing copies and information need to be kept; and
    A Corporate Record book needs to be kept up to date.
