Ok, I think we’ll go with St Judes because 2 people sort of said they were pretty good. I would do somethink like the toy thing but since what is coming out of the plates will be dollars we can only give dollars.
Lisa has given me a good idea for something else though and I think next year I will go full steam ahead making product and selling it for a change with 50% going to Ocean of Love in TR and the rest pumping bs.net up.So….I think it’s St Judes? Cool?

Sorry I had to go there… 😆
bmiddaughMemberI don’t wanna hijack this thread but here is that complete bike…

Let’s face it, it’s pretty damn sweet.
bmiddaughMemberAs soon as I get past this freaking cold I have and my mind isn’t a marshmallow, I’ll finish off Bill’s proposal and the purpose of the grant. I should have the literature estimate soon and Dave’s stuff is just a matter of email. Then we’ll get the estimate of 07 awards at the jan meeting and call for another meeting in feb.
bmiddaughMemberexcellent idea, i know we will have extra jerseys. who will get the jerseys signed? are do you think someone can volunteer to get these signatures at the nats during the year.
we could announce this on the njbmx.org site.bmiddaughMemberI was talking to Chris Vliet yesterday and he knows we are attempting to bring money into the organization.
I could hear Linda talking through him.
“Instead of getting a pa system for the state series and NJ events, why not put the money into revamping all the pa systems at the tracks”
“There is no reason why the money can’t be brought into the state and then used with as they see fit, split it up between the tracks.”I told him flat out, no, that is not the way it works, nor is that how it will work. We have specific items allotted for this donation and we have to make sure that we come through on that.
What would make it possible to get something to EHT for them to get a new pa? I would love to be able to open those books.
I was looking at the 501c3 code yesterday and it says that any monies paid to people in the organization must have all taxes taken out.
I am still awaiting the estimate for promotional literature and the existence of the letter of determination.
bmiddaughMemberCraig when you get all this stuff together we’ll do a writeup with everyone in their uniforms for the 07 season
bmiddaughMemberI have a satin high voltage trick team jacket from 1986.
it is a fond memory.
that is all….
But in 06 I need something more…..06…ya know?bmiddaughMembernow you know why I do what I do without asking.
Charlie, when you got to know him would also never take any sh*t from anyone.
And the guy could build some killer wheels…
bmiddaughMemberum…
I just wanted to say good luck to all the guys down at EHT laying the asphalt today.
Pave it up fellas!bmiddaughMemberThis should be a wake up call to everyone in this area.
This was the closest track to my good friend Charlie Huber, I’m sorry to hear it’s closing.bmiddaughMemberCool, well maybe someone can fill me in some time in private so I can learn how to not make these same mistakes. It seems though like this is something that should be taken care of well in advance and then after the championship when you know sizes it’s just a matter of telling the people making the jackets, what sizes to make…
I’ll be honest though and say I’m glad that the satin BMX Aunt jackets are gone, lolbmiddaughMemberRich,
Do you think that once we get this one grant done and prove that it can actually be handled in a reasonable fashion we should then attempt to deal with the individual tracks.I think that I can be honest in saying there is at least 1 track in NJ that needs a decent pa system. Flemington needs to have it’s drainage problem fixed, Matt showed me the pictures from last year, holy shit, it’s amazing what happens to that place during a bad storm.
bmiddaughMemberyou can not do all this alone. if you think you can then you might as well quit. i would be curious to know who these people were.
bmiddaughMember< currently applying for diplomat status at the U.N.
Anyway, here’s were things are going.
I ,meaning ME, am envisioning 2007 as the year that things can begin to return to normalcy for NJ BMX racing.
For some reason in 2006 this became THE site for ANY news on racing NJ. That’s cool and all but that’s not really what this place is supposed to be about.
News, stories, opinions yea, but asphalting turns, track changes, gate practice that is SUPPOSED to be the responsibility of the individual tracks.
Hoodies, jerseys, plates…etc are SUPPOSED to be the responsibility of the state.
I took it upon myself to disseminate that information this year here as it seemed other places were sort of scattered or not updated often. In 2007 cjbmx.org will continue it’s current state of updates, njbmx.org will be THE place for racing information, this means, points, plates, jerseys, registration, misc product, emergency postings, etc. and the word on the grapevine is that ehtbmx.org will be undergoing a major revamp. The racers will have places to check what they NEED to know easily and they will be updated often.
So in effect what is going on is the weeding away of people from coming here for “official” “whatever” track news.
In 2006 the ball got rolling, in 2007 BMX racing will start to pick up speed rolling out of the starting hill.
I’ll still be here for those who are saying “the jump is too big”, or this guy stinks at whatever, or joe bagodonuts flipped the gate this week.
But it’s time for njbmx and the tracks to step up and take some responsibility for it’s own promotion.
You guys all have to start going easier on each other, more progress has been made in the past year here in NJ than has probably been made in the past 5 in the nbl itself.
Remember, THE NBL HEADQUARTERS USED TO BE IN NJ…
That SAYS something. -
