yea clips are dangerous, i never said they weren’t. plus those are things that effect your health from chemicals. I have yet to see a clip pedal make someone sick like lead paint, so bad come back man. And Leadsled1 congrates on your wins. Although you make a great point some people do feel more comfortable on clips and others on flats. I also don’t think the NBL will do anything about it just like with SlingShot gate starts. Personally i myself don’t ride with clips for that lil extra edge. I feel more safe with them because slipping a pedal in the last straight in a main is not a worry to me anymore. Really i just think it makes on less thing to think about while racing.

I also think that we should get a poll going on here for clips or flats. How about everyone else

i agree with ya on that and more then just the bike, they need to know the gate and jumps first. Yes also only Experts should be the ones able to clip in and not the 10 and under experts. And riders with their own shoes, they can make clip shoes too but know one has “YET”. There are way to many things to happen in the sport to be saying things like that.

And for the Old Schools since you guys like to point things out, how many of you are using a computer from the 80’s, how about a phone or car, prolly almost none of you. and why most likely because new inventions came out and made things better and more competitive.

also i think there should be Old School races kinda like an open. You would have to sign up and pay 5 bucks for it and then be able to race flats and all then. What does everyone else think

it doesn’t matter if you look dorkish at all. clips just give you that little bit of cranking that could win or lose the race. I agree they look stupid, so maybe they should get some cooler shoes or something. And for the trails, i ride almost everyday, i even have trails in my yard with a soon to be foam pit. every once in awhile though i’ll go out with my race bike and clips and ride them. To me that just shows how comfortable jumping with anything (clips or flats). and leathers, you’ll never see me in them, i tried them once and they feel weird.

I just think everyone should drop this topic about clips and how they are so bad, because face it their here and there here to stay. Every sport needs improvements to gain a wider viewing audience, clips and carbon fiber are the new improvements and they are going to stay until the next improvement comes around

i’m wondering how many of you guys that are against clips have ever TRIED them first before trash talking them. If you don’t know the feel of them when you go down the track then you can’t say anything about it. Plus i think the other NJ tracks should have an Old School race like HC BMX does and more then just once a year. Maybe you guys should try making old school races like an open at local events or something like that.

i know your only messing around which is why i kept in with this. I agree that they aren’t to safe but if someone prefers to ride them, then let them do it there shouldn’t be some big fight over clips or flats. It’s all up to the person who rides. And yes we did have some close races last year but i’m faster now so you’ll have to come back lol. see you guys at P-town National
