It is brokenspokes.net sincere regret that we relay the news of the passing of Kelly Gleason, daughter of CJBMX originators and Bicycle World owners Bob and Carol Gleason. Those of you who are old enough to remember the early days of BMX racing in NJ will remember Kelly as one of Carol’s daughters who was always working registration and scoring and also as one of the innovators of many of the things that the NBL does to speed things along even to this day. As an adult Kelly was a freelance special effects and make-up artist for stage and screen productions, even receiving an Emmy for her work on Angels in America. A multi talented and generous individual, Kelly also was very active with The New York City Rescue Mission. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New York City Rescue Mission at nycrescue.org
Kelly will be missed but she will never be forgotten. The old school BMXers bow their heads in rememberance.
