Bill, the thought of you in short shorts just ruined my evening!!!
Next Sunday 6/25 will be a workday. If you can come out and help that would be great. Thanks to Rich Carolan (sp?) we are renting a 4yard bucket to move all that dirt. The goal is to fill in the last straight to grade level, build a step-up to it out of the 4th turn and a series of rollers/table top on the last straight. Also, the 4th straight giant double will be made a bit smaller, along with similiar doubles, one before it and one after it. With a scoop that large, the only problem may be running out of dirt, but don’t worry…theres about twice that much more to come.
So…the big machine will be there, theres always a need for people to rake and shovel if you can make it (sorry, I can’t). I may come out Monday to finalize it depending on what they get done. I’ll let you all know.

At least I’m not the only idiot 😳 …I spent about a half hour trying to figure out where the listing was on NJBMX and found it by accident when I logged in for something else!
Let me clarify my thing about fiefdoms was not directed at the NJBMX website. In fact, I found myself protecting my own part when I heard people talking about the HC track. Later I realized I needed to be open also.

Hey all, we had a great meeting this weekend. Hopefully it will not end here. Step one: promote and grow. I think we have some key people on board, or at the very least, not in the way.

Why can’t we? Because BITD some knucklehead claimed that their kid broke an arm or some crap because BMX was presented in their school…Thats why I am not leaving my house tomorrow…someone could sue me. I am building a wall around my property so knowone could wander onto it and sue me…its gonna be rubber in case someone runs into it and gets hurt…

Ant, you don’t know it, but you really stepped in it this time! First, a disclaimer…I have had a few tonight, but in all seriousness, I mean NO personal offense to anyone that may think I am referring to them. That being said, if we want to advance this sport, we all have to put down our shields and be open minded. We can all look to someone like Bob Tedesco and wonder when it is he lost touch. It is much more personal when someone steps up with an idea that affects what we personally have worked hard at building and preserving.
This is what I got out of this weekend: There are a great many persons involved with various aspects of BMX in New Jersey. Most, if not all, are in it for the right reasons, BUT, we all (again, usually for good reasons)want to control our own personal fiefdom. It could be that you don’t want someone to potentially screw up what you have put long hours into. We ALL need to step back, look at where BMX racing is today, and where we would like to see it go in the future. With the olympics coming up, we have a great opportunity. The first thing we need to do is get new riders to the track. The second thing is to make them want to come back. Lets not blow it for personal reasons on any side. We ALL need to let go of a little bit of our piece of the pie to make it work for everyone. I may be inviting a serious flaming here, but all the arguing and the ‘you can’t do that’ means exactly that! Sorry if I am rambling…Loren😆 and I am your King! 😆
