hey what can i say donna sommers, lionel richie, etc i know dont rub it in. hey i went to school in sc what do you expect ?? the friggin disco craze was there ( prob still is) you cant NOT go to nickel beer night now can you??
i think when binghamton was in our series we did back to back to make it easier for them to join and allows folks just say from eht to go and race there 2x in one weekend. think about it- if its over 2 hrs for me in north jersey then its over 4 hrs for a rider from eht which is kind of far for a state race… it was done i believe to make it easy for the riders. they camped out there( 357 mag at the bedside..lol) or did the hotel or only one day ifyou prefer.
the hotels in pottstown area are very reasonable esp the one next to the track. the track seems to have enough space for camping so i dont see how a back to back for 1 weekend makes a difference. the only thng for their riders to come to us would be a hike but thats their choice i guess.

how would that happen? i thought the hangers idea was already done in some places? i remember seeing them a long time ago.

i am sounding like a broken record… have them race on a diff day then no prob.

its like i was invited to thanksgiving dinner..there will be about 25 people there… they are eating at 4 pm but i have to work till 6… should the whole crowd not eat till i get there? i think not… i have to work around them not the other way around i am the one invited so either i come when the party is or i eat later….or i dont go at all. (this is my husb family btw lol)

what moron could possibly say that flyers in schools and bmx/track promotion hangers on bikes in shops are not a good idea?
im sorry but i keep hearing that someone sais its not a good idea? maybe i missed when that was brougnt up at a meeting.
this is what roger does in ct(sorry here i go again) and they win the track with the most new riders every year. in fact every week that a new rider signs up they make an announcement introduce them to the track and add that person onto the number of new sign ups. i was there one sunday last summer and the number was up to 90..did you hear that? 90 new riders at their track… they are doing it right and i applaud them. i dont think that njbmx gets that in 3 tracks combined.
if its not broke dont fix it.. why not do what works…??
its a no brainer in my book. tell me what the down sides are? a little leg work? a little effort on eveyones part? we did the same thing in our rec program in town with the little kids wrestling club/ self promotion when done in the correct manner ( such as getting board of ed approval on flyers for schools) is the main way to go.
who can argue with that?
who wants to get the riders… flemington or pottstown? how many motos does pottstown get? sorry i may be a bit slow tonight. there are 2 different topics here and i am not sure i follow one of them.
binghamton is 2hr 45 min away( they were in nj state series) from me and we are north jersey. pottstown is 1 hr 54 mins away. we may not do locals there all the time but if they want a state race that is either back to back( so you can camp overnight) or 2 in one day ( the way ny does it) then fine. going back and forth on 2 different weekend may be difficult.
all tracks shoud promote regardless of moto count im sure pa tracks have the same rider retention probs we have.
i guess i dont follow you. if a track is going to join the state i would think that they all should be on different days. if they run on the same day as flemington as they do now( if they do now) then both tracks have to agree that they wont be any problems if they dont go to either place??? is that waht you want?
i dont have a schedule. i just thought having another day to race would be great for the riders in nj. when mullica did friday nights we didnt go there every week but it was a nice option when we did go… plus they didnt run against anyone else in the state either and it seemed to work out fine.
where did the 800 lb gorrilla come from? is that new?
or am i just slow and blind….i did get my new glasses this past week

maybe its not about the tracks getting more riders its about the riders getting to race more tracks….
i dont think they are trying to take any riders from other tracks i think they want to do the schedule so as many riders get as much opportunity to race as possible. why make a rider choose what track on a given day?
i wasnt there at the meeting but if it were me i know my son would ask me to go to pottstown to race somewhere different, race different kids thats part of the exitement of it ( i think) and the knappers are old time flemington racers by nature so i would think they would want to keep the tracks best interest at heart.
i dont see the extortion issue either…
ok why would running pottstown race on a sunday be better for the state series? then they run against howell. i know its not within 1/2 hr away but some people may just travel if it was convenient for them. like i said before have them all on different days or times. if flem runs at 12 why not run pottstown sat night? its way farther from eht plus they go to tuesdays eventually during the season anyway. this gives the potts town folks a chance to do howell and they dont have to close down to do a state race either. ct has all 4 tracks running on weeknights too and they dont miss a beat when a national comes to town. flemington dosnt have lights so maybe the other tracks that do can go to night races? tues night is hard to get to but i bet that eht has more scheduled locals than any other track because of it.
bottom line is no track in the same state series should be running against each other its just not right.
