dave has always welcomed the nbl riders from nj and made them feel at home. i remember when i brought about 4-5 riders from our state team there a few yrs back although he was happy about the temp memberships all of them converted to full and raced the redline cup race as well as the first “clash of the titans” race later on with the flemington track. they were fun times and we all appreciate all the work dave put in esp making our riders feel at home away from home… if it wasnt for him we would have never raced aba.

i think what happened was in the beginning of the yr someome stepped up to the plate and was in charge of the jackets/ state awards/pres cup jerseys..then as the season ended this person was no longer in volved with the workings of the state and low and behold there was no one doing the jackets/ ordering getting sizes etc so jeff stepped up and took over with whatever info was given him. i think that year the pres cup jerseys were forgotten about as well maybe the same person was in charge…?

this is what happens when someone offers to help then for whatever reason they dont come thru…. maybe thats the reason some of the state “old timers” are reluctant to be as enthusiastic as most of the newbies on here….( by that i mean new to the workings of njbmx) after being burnt a few times by people who come out with guns blazing to have that job put back in thier lap again…well its hard to let someone new take over certain things…. i can see thier hesitancy with this type of thing.. commitment is tough to come by and finishing what you started is even harder it seems in the world of bmx…

i just thought having 2 shots at it in one weekend incase you crash in semi would be better… haha i guess i am trying to be realistic incase anyone self destructs…

look at the fla races… you have to stay for the week to get both uci races in rather than just 1 weekend.

just spoke to bt about this… ok here we go…

the usac national championship in michigan will take the 8 riders who make the main..

then they will take your top 3 uci race finish points ( will be posted as they go on the uci website). if for some reason the person who just say gets 1st in the main at waterford oaks just happens to be capped in points then they will go to the next highest person in points…and so on..

there will be no other class for challenge at the uci races..only for jr men and elite men. whatever your age class is for the national thats the uci age class. you will get points for the national as well as uci points for the same race.

the uci picked the races not the nbl.( i was curious why they were not back to back on the same weekend) he said the uci wanted 1 day from each weekend.

i would think the state registration person would love this idea/ less work for him/her. in other states it is accepted /normal to preregister only…its the folks who pay the day of the race who are in the minority. what they do is pre register everyone then come race day there are 2 lines..1 for pre registered check in, the other for post registration. the rider just goes and checks in with registration booth( very quick line moves fast) gets a ticket then goes to bike inspection. no ticket/ no inspection/ no practice. the ticket is then put in a bucket for a rider raffle to be pulled later on when they do the 50/50. kind of nice. this is how they monitor who is on the track also ( i remember we had a prob a while back with riders practicing and crashing who were not registrerd for that days race) that eliminates that prob for sure.

anyway if all the riders pre registered you could almost have the moto sheets done ahead of time and just add in last min stragglers.. i would think??

dan is so pumped up for tryng to get to the worlds in 07. he has been talking about it for over a yr..i hate to pop his baloon esp when he has been training so hard and is psyched up for it.. its a shame what they do for the love of money instead of the passion for the sport….

ok why make the uci race only day 1 of the national weekend. so if you want to just say go to woodbridge va you only get a uci race on day 1..( looks like you need min of 3 uci days).same with sarasota fla..that really sucks… there is no way to do this series unless you spend 2 weekends in fla, take your kid out of school that week ( not off for easter break that week in hs) or fly to nevada or ca…

way to go nbl/uci for making it sooo easy to qualify…

    idiots!!

i would assume if one had an excell worksheet/ financial statement to show monthly…that those numbers would have to have come from a bank statement plus receipts from things purchased? correct? ya cant make that stuff up…

also i was aware and involved at the time that the state clerk was allowed to get pd a small stipend for doing the points for all the kids since it was shown to be very time consuming and whatever the reasons were ( i dont remember) but why is the referree paid again? i dont remember that being a paid position. what exactly is the referee? is there only 1 for the whole state? i was told that in ct they have 1 or 2 referrees for each track and depending on the state race location that that referree is the person in charge of disputes for the day..a friend of mines husband has this position for trumbul thats how i was told. so they have a minimum of 4 referees for ct( at least 1 for each track and possibly a backup in case they cant be at the state race) but no one gets paid. they get a food voucher for the day and i think their rider gets their race entry pd for the day ( big whoppee i think it costs $8 for a state race if you pre register in ct) and believe me they ALL pre register/ its highly encouraged.

so can someone tell me what the nj “referree” does to get paid or what his responsibilities are? ( who is it anyway??) not being sarcastic i am just curious. thanks
