I give Loren a lot of credit for trying to do the right thing.

But I can’t get these free race flyers made till there is a central info portal owned by NJBMX Inc.
It does not seem right ya know?

I do not have brokenspokes.net on the flyer as I am not a sponsor NOR official info portal for NJBMX Inc.
’cause well, quite frankly it wouldn’t be right.

I realized that there is a slight problem.
njbmx does not own it’s own domain, so I am at a quandry as to what to put for a website on there.
I don’t think I should place this order till I know njbmx has its won site.

    So…
    How does this sound.
Since we can get MORE than enough web hosting space donated to us, we can then split up whatever domain the state decides on into what are called subdomains.
    like…
    well like me…
    brokenspokes.net
    brickbmx.brokenspokes.net..
    etc.

    so lets say,
    n-j-bmx.org
    eht-n-j-bmx.org
    cj-n-j-bmx.org…etc..

then what you do is redirect your current site to the n-j-bmx.org site.

so lets say cjbmx.org resides on the cj-n-j-bmx.org server, you redirect cjbmx.org to there
and wammo, you have save your track its yearly webhosting fees.
Over the long term this could be quite a significant savings.

again here is the company and its free hosting plan for 501c3’s
    http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
    http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Non-profit_Discount

This is very simple stuff, that is done all the time, and it will benefits NJ’s riders by saving them money.

All we supply is njbmx’s letter of determination to the webhosting company. Which we already have.

A charitable organization is SUPPOSED to get stuff donated that is why it is what it is…
Vinny will back me up on that last statement.

racing – riding is always fun.
the politics here have been sucking, but now that stuff can be heard it just gets the older riders more riled up to help.
once those guys realize it’s ok to be in charge and change things. the politics will become partytics.

how’s about the tracks figure out how to draw riders, get grant money and increase the capital coming in.
instead of asking riders to give up what they have earned.
I mean it’s a cool idea, but looking at it from a rider pov, I dunno.
maybe if the track gives the guy donating some free races or something.
    ya know?

That’s cool and all. I think what you’re trying to do is excellent. But since njbmx.org is not owned by njbmx could you remove my name from those committees on there. It’s not a big deal, but it would make my girlfriend happy she is not a big fan of the website owner. thanks man.

guys it’s 2007. the move up points should be able to be kept track of online and updated monthly.
Rez is right tho, nbl hq is helpful when ya call em. just would be easier without the hoops.
hey and Rez is CJ’S track director for 2007. So let’s say hi….
hey that’s 2 track directors posting here and joining the discussion, gotta b a good thing.

    frontpage won’t go to waste.
you can use it to an extent.
but designing and building is not where it should be used.
plus, I know the reason you bought it was to help get njbmx.org updated, but what is the point? the state doesn’t own the site, they should buy their own domain.

    Loren,
Frontpage is outdated software, though usable to an extent. A website built in the past 4 years should be done using something newer.

Glenn, could you get your webguy to back me up here?

Here’s some people discussing the merits….

Of course none of this addresses the issue of njbmx owning it’s own website.

    to answer your question directly,
the local tracks send the results to the nbl headquarters, where they SHOULD go to a main computer database and automatically be updated as the race results come in…
for some reason I don’t think the nbl is there yet.

its like the kid at the park who has the only bat and ball. Everyone is real nice to him because they don’t want him to leave and take the bat and ball with him.

Yea, but now the kids can get their own ball and bat, a nice new field donated and a whole new team to play with.

Times up. njbmx needs it’s OWN website NOW.
It does not need to worry about someone elses website.
It should be a website updated by the tracks and their reps and the board of directors.
I believe that myself, Glenn Knapper, and Loren will be more than happy to assist Vinny in helping with this aspect of BMX promotion.
