Let me see if I can straighten this up so people understand where I am coming from on a lot of the stuff I say.
I’m hoping you all realize that if I really believed that I don’t think you should have an opinion I would just delete stuff that is posted I don’t like. That would go against everything I believe in and would make this a creativity free zone which is definately NOT what BMX racing needs right now.
So yes, my comedic friends you are all entitled to your opinions.
My opinion though is that I value riders opinions above non-riders opinions on racing matters.

Now let me see if I can make another part of this whole “movement” thing here more clear.
I’m not a parent, you all know that. So I don’t see a lot of things from the same viewpoint as most people here would. I’m a guy who loves BMX, just like every other person here, I would hope.
    But.
I also have a vision, and I would hope that as parents you would relate to this.
I see a future for BMX racing where the racers aren’t just racers, but they have control on the direction of their sport. Where they no longer have to say, well that’s the rules we have to deal with it. Where they, the racers can say, this rule isn’t working, we need to figure a way to fix it.
I see a future where people like Debbie’s son, or Mac’s son, or the Dulock kids don’t just drop out when they get older and move on from the sport because they no longer have fun doing it. But where, because THEY have a say in it, they feel as though they have a stake in it
I think I can speak for a lot of the older guys, I may be wrong, but I feel a lot of regret that I did not stick around to help out with racing (I did stick around and help freestyle when it was down on it’s balls), I see the same cycle could occur again where older riders drop out and the sport is continously run by people other than those who do it.
Isn’t that what you all want for your kids?
To leave them a legacy, something they can call their own?
I’m not gonna stop until we have state meetings and the riders outnumber the people who don’t rideâ™  by a 2 to 1 margin.
And it’s not because I hate people but it’s because I want to see a future for BMX that includes heavy rider involvement, so we do not repeat the mistake of the past.
Can’t you all just go home tonight and ask your kids what are 10 things you’d like to see that would make BMX racing more fun for you and your buds?
Dave is right. Maybe some people just are not ready to say, this rule or that needs to be changed, or maybe the nbl needs to wake up. But a lot of us are. And there are more every day.
I am going to leave us all with some words directly from our state commissioner, words I have heard him say time and again.
“I don’t see why that can’t be done”
This man does not ride but I value his opinion immensely. He stays calm under pressure, has a can do attitude and fully and completely, along with his wife understand what this is all about.
Maybe it’s because they too walk the line between freestyle and racing, I dunno, but those 8 words above are the most important ones out there and are what will save BMX racing from smaller and smaller motos.
So who is with those of us who believe it can be done?

You guys are right, the money is part of the equation, but how do you entice the older guys to stick around after trophy #3,000?
    Look,
here in NJ ….and PA we are filled with BMX geniouses, we could come up with something cool to make everyone happy.
And I think every single thing we are doing, even arguing about stuff like this right here, is making a positive impact.
    Why?
Because we are trying instead of saying, oh well.

    or maybe it’s like,…
NJ we aren’t sandbagging on how to make BMX better..

The only disconnect here is non-riders are making rules that affect riders.

Let me put it this way, no one should be asking me how to run the pro-am and what the rules should be, because it won’t affect me, I don’t know what’s best.

I do know exactly who to ask though, the guys who are running all those classes.

As an aside, though I personally don’t listen to non-riders opinions on things, I do listen to everyone’s opinions and the whole point of this whole website is so everyone can voice their opinion without fear of censorship.
Don’t you think of going nowwhere MacDaddy, cause you’re on of the few guys here who will buck anyones authority and throw your voice out there.

Controversy makes for great banter and fun place.
    Now keep talking! —

oh and everyone should know this.
These guys aren’t just “racing for the money”.
They are racing because they are racing the fastest guys in the area, they want the challenge, that is what motivates them.

Would you wade through 16 men, who are badazz, risk your life, for a possible shot at a wopping…
    $150.00 bucks?
And trust me, they are risking it all. Anyone on here who has crashed and gotten run the heck over on a track can tell you how risky this is.

The point of every one of my rants is this.
The riders should be allowed to vote and decide what works best for them.
Not people who do not race.

Hence the head people of the n b l.

I’m sorry that is my opinion and it will never change.

Sandbagging occurs when one races obviously out of class to improve ones chances of “winning”, if you can call it that when you are racing people that you obviously outclass.

There is obviously a rift someplace at local races.
Our state qualifier at an excellent facility drew 35 motos.
Not stacked 8.. sorry 6 man motos but small motos.
Either people start to think outside the box, or let it go.
If you’re over 16 and ain’t racing, I’m sorry and this will sound very harsh but you should really have no opinion on this.

If freestyle BMX riders can control their sport, so can BMX racers.
Trust me, and I AM GOING TO HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN.
