Ok, yes one day eggs are good and one day eggs are bad … but When we consider the state of the world nothing has gotten better. Unless you consider pollution, extinction, famine, disease, all good. So having said that.
One thing we are not is beyond extinction ourselves.
Mans arrogance and greed has blinded him into thinking he is unstoppable. The world in itself is an organism and it will fix itself. Fixing itself will be at our cost. Like I said in my other post, climate has changed in the past many times for many reasons. The factor is the rate of the change not the change itself. Volcanic eruptions can play a part to give an example. If you want to talk about the period during the dinosaurs then you must taking into consideration that the earth was still cooling. From the year 1000 to the year 1400 you had what is called the medieval warming period when the world was a few degrees warmer and that went right into what is called the little ice age that ran from 1400 to the 1800s. It is documented that it snowed all summer long one year in the 1800s. .. The reasoning behind this is that when the earth heats up then the glaciers melt the ocean water dilutes, stopping the trans Atlantic current and that causes the northern climates to start cooling down again. Sounds like everything will work out fine.. The world will fix itself will man live through it is the question. During these periods you had great advancement and great devastation. During the year it snowed all summer no crops could grow. Livestock died and people starved to death in the northern climates.
The point is not even scientific it is basic common sense. IF you think that you can take where you live and pollute and destroy it to the point it becomes toxic things don’t live. Its not rocket science.

I have made it a point to do as little damage as I can while I am here.
Ask Brett.. He is such a good sport about it.. LoL

Sorry but I completely disagree there is enough data to support that the increase of green house gases added to massive clear cutting, and all the other nasty crap we do to our environment has thrown the balance off… (ecosystem)Does climate change ? yes. It has many times. But, when climate changes quickly it is usually due to catastrophic events. Since we haven’t had any catastrophic events to warrant a quick climate change or the rate of extinctions that are taking place at the moment. I am gonna go with global warming, the key here is the rate of change not if it is changing. I also agree if you want to do something, change using oil change your living habits.
Just ask Brett how I drive him out of his mind about getting solar or a wind turbine for our home.

This is why its important to write your congressman. I do it all the time . You will also get a response when you do , via emails. I also received a phone call from his office one night. So don’t think you cant be heard.

    what about the college kids?

I have a problem with that statement. When you are in college you are considered a young adult. There are no kids or children in college. At that time in your life you are taught how to multi task and to manage your time properly and be a responsible adult capable of completing a higher edjucation. So having said that, college students have cars and can get from point A to point B and know how to make time for Hobbies, whether its racing or funneling bear at the frat houses. This is not a valid excuse to have a championship in august. College students also need to have an outlet on their days off to blow off steam. Take it from one who knows. Is there a official count on how many racers are actually college students in the state of NJ? If so were they ever asked if they have a problem with having the state championship later in the year? I am guessing the answer is no to both those questions having seen how the powers at be run the state organization.
Loren, you put that post in quotes. I am guessing you have heard someone say this can you tell us who it was?

Individual responses to caffeine vary, and these drinks should be treated carefully because of how powerful they are. Energy drinks’ stimulating properties can boost the heart rate and blood pressure (sometimes to the point of palpitations), dehydrate the body, and, like other stimulants, prevent sleep.

Energy drinks should not be used while exercising as the combination of fluid loss from sweating and the diuretic quality of the caffeine can leave the user severely dehydrated.
This is from Brown university heath

Earlier this month, a new study found a surprising number of caffeine overdose reports to a Chicago poison control center. These involved young people taking alertness pills such as NoDoz or energy drinks, sometimes mixed with alcohol or other drugs. During three years of reports to the center, the researchers found 265 cases of caffeine abuse. Twelve percent of those required a trip to the hospital. The average age of the caffeine user was 21.

“Young people are taking caffeine to stay awake, or perhaps to get high, and many of them are ending up in the emergency department,” said Dr. Danielle McCarthy of Northwestern University, who conducted the study. “Caffeine is a drug and should be treated with caution, as any drug is
