    Rodney –

If you like Beetlejuice, he will be in Parsippany on December 14th at the Comedy Shoppe at the Holiday Inn on Rt. 46 East.

I only know this because we ate at the restaurant there the other day and my son grabbed a flyer by the register.

The Reverend Boby Levy is the headliner, and the third person on the card is Chris McDevitt(??).

    More info at http://www.jjcomedy.com

I am on this committee as well. Only 3 people volunteered for this: Me, Janeen & Lisa Heath. I am not ranting, but hope more express an interest for next year.

We are looking at possibly the weekend before Thanksgiving. BUT, this is not definite yet. Crazy thing is, my wife just reminded me of a wedding we are going to that weekend. Can you believe it? First cousin on her dad’s side. Gotta go. So I may miss the party I help plan.

Dave – once again, valid point. Last year not much money was left over after paying for everything else. B*tch all you want, but its a fact.

The Incline Club is a possibility, but we are working on one or two other ideas, plus discussing some ideas with the Cranmers should we have it there again.

Depending on where we have it will impact the food choices, but believe it or not, an expenditure of this size has to be voted on should we want to cater it. However, I will bring it up with the committee.

I am working to get someone re-elected to our council who is very pro-kids and open to ideas.

We are active in our church, my wife teaches in our district, and I have now met some of the little league/football dads who have leared how to navigate the waters. Its all about support.

    We’ll keep ya posted.

The form is posted over at NJBMX.org

If I knew how to attach the form here I would. You have to register at the site to be able to see and download the form.

Dave – please remove your cranium from your posterior, please.

Yeah, Nike is the “poser” here for sure, jumping on the bandwagon, but do you understand how much friggin money they bring with them???

I am sure right now only their sponsored riders wear the stuff, and many will call them “sell outs”, but the last time I opened Ride BMX or watched Fuel TV, alot of these guys had sponsors, and all they do is ride and promote a lifestyle.

Do not knock Nike for making a business decision. Yeah, the wrong money can screw things up, but I don’t see folks bitchin about Mountain Dew’s money (aka Pepsi) or Honda’s for that matter (saw their name all over the place at an event recently).

If the powers that be can get Nike behind BMX racing beyond just sponsoring Bubba, you can bet Nike is gonna want to see racing on TV, etc, because they are not small thinkers.

Like everything else, if you don’t want to buy their stuff, you have a choice. But don’t knock them. BMX in general must be doing something right if the big boys are paying attention.

Remember, its not Felt that pays Scotty Cranmer 6 figures a year so he can buy a bicycle shop, its companies like Mountain Dew / Pepsi that put up those kind of $$$$.

I have never raced P-cup yet, but we reimburse the race fee too, don’t we? (I am not on the board, just on committee, so don’t shoot me for not knowing all the rules & regs without looking them up)

Dave – I am new to this side of the deal, you know that. Like I said, you have a very valid point. Lets not b*tch about it, but work on getting this included for next year.

I do not know if Rich C. will make another grant available next year, but he has pointed out that there are many resources to get grants from. Someone here alluded to Trilogy possibly getting grants, so maybe they can point us in the right direction.

Yes, it seems like the right thing to do: give a jersey to everyone who qualified for and raced the state championship. But, you have to put a limit on it somewhere. I believe the P-cup allows the top 15 in an age group to race that race. So if we make the assumption that we are growing this sport in hopes of one day having more than 15 people in a class at the championships, then maybe thats where you draw the line:

If you qualify for and race class at the state championship, and finish Top 15, you get the State Jersey at no charge, whether you race the P-cup or not. You can not just give it to everyone or then you take away from the accomplishment of earning it. If, however, you were not qualified at the state championship, but still were considered “Top 15” AND you go to P-cup, then we’ll cover your jersey if you go and race. (keep it as a re-imbursement program, of course)

Remember, this is racing. Look at any other racing sport and you will see that you bring out the best in folks by making them earn their awards.

Just to clarify, what I wrote above is something that needs to be proposed at the next state meeting for the coming year. It is not the current way of doing things.

Dave – please attend the next state meeting and introduce that – and maybe we can get grant money to cover it in the coming year.

Right now the state re-imburses everyone who races the P-cup.

I will ask Nancy to get the form up on NJBMX.org, and maybe get a link here.

I am on the committee for the jerseys this year, sorry for the late release of the order forms.

Tim – I love the fact that you were able to use the internet to find a very detailed picture of your private parts and how they work, but you couldn’t find the answer to your snack food question?
