What Bob Hadley thought of the “35 over class” in BMX Plus.
I guess the phrase, “You’ve come a long way baby”, applies to all

I was 10 years old when that article was written. I remember reading that and wondering if I’d still be riding/racing when I turned 35. I would’ve never guessed that the answer would be yes.

I used to watch the old guys race, ad think, NO WAY will I still be doing that. I am, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!! I think I ride better now than then as a result of the tracks being better

Funny thing is that one of our locals Marty McHugh won the Grands that year in cruiser. He came back and raced in 05 as a 54 year old.

I started racing in 1978 and havent went more than a few years with out hitting up a track and at least doing gates.
I remember think those pros looked old and like men when they showed up to race. LOL now Im really older alot older, than those guys were? Say it aint so…
At least in these forums I dont feel alone.
